Evaluation: Effectiveness

How effective is the combination of your main product and ancillary texts?

I believe that the combination of my main product and ancillary tasks is very effective and helped me successfully create the project I anticipated. Alongside my main task of creating a children's opening television sequence, I have created a DVD and a magazine based on the television programme.
I feel that my main task and ancillary tasks link together very nicely as I kept to the same sort of colour scheme throughout and the same styling for each product. Each product was different in it's own little way, but they all linked back together - for example, my DVD cover picture is set at night-time, whereas my magazine and opening television sequence are set in the daytime, but, athough they are different, they still all have the same conventions to make them all become a matching group, whether it be colours, font, or the pose by the main character on the front.
I also feel that another reason why my tasks link together very well is because they all connect to each other to make it all seem as one whole package. For example, if children like the television programme, they would want to buy a magazine to see all the details and gossip about the show, especially as the target audience is girls who would want to know all the fashion tips and inside details. Also, the DVD links in nicely as it would be a product somebody would want to buy if they were a fan of the show and just helps the publicity and popularity of the show grow.
